When the Montana Academy Foundation Board of Directors realized that our school was not financially viable, we were faced with the stark choice of closing the school or finding a suitable partner. Within a month of retaining Glick & Davis, they had scanned the landscape for possible targets for a merger or an acquisition and led us in negotiations with an organization interested in acquiring the school. Despite a variety of complications that often felt overwhelming to me, GDA delivered a successful conclusion, one that our board could never have achieved on our own. Going into the process, we Directors had two priorities: 1) provide continuity of care for our students and their families; 2) preserve the livelihoods of nearly fifty employees. Thanks to GDA, we achieved both. These guys are very, very good at what they do.

Residence XII provided residential treatment for women with substance abuse problems for over 40 years. In our last few years, our annual budget deficit grew, putting our viability in jeopardy. When we found GDA in 2018, we were in deep red ink. JGA guided our board and staff gracefully through a series of turnaround and merger options and decisions, supporting us at each, which eventually led to a terrific outcome. I can’t stress enough how traumatic this could have been for us and how GDA’s methodical and systematic help supported our options analysis in a positive way. Working with Tim Davis and Newport Academy, our mission and all of our services not only continued, but were expanded with Newport’s much greater capacity and size.
