Christine Hughes

Chris is a nonprofit leader and strategic advisor with over 15 years of experience strengthening organizations through executive leadership, strategic planning, and operational growth. She most recently served as a National Development Consultant with Reach Out and Read, where she helped drive a $10 million national fundraising strategy and partnered with a network of Regional Affiliates to advance organizational alignment and impact. Previously, she served as Reach Out and Read’s Regional Executive Director for Connecticut and Massachusetts, leading a multi-state operation serving more than 250,000 children annually, and earlier as their Founding Executive Director and Founding Programs Director, where she built and scaled the Connecticut affiliate.

Chris brings deep experience in organizational assessment, leadership development, and cross-sector collaboration, along with a strong foundation in fiscal management. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Chris is known for her thoughtful, analytical approach to problem-solving and her ability to partner effectively with nonprofit leaders, funders, and community partners. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and their mini Bernedoodle, Clara, and spending time with their three grown children and two granddaughters.
